Jill M. Zuccardy, Esq. has practiced family and matrimonial law for more than 30 years. She has extensive experience in Family Court and Supreme Court cases involving custody, visitation, child support, domestic violence, orders of protection, accusations of child abuse and neglect, and financial and property issues arising from the marital relationship. Jill also regularly represents clients as they go through child protective services (ACS/CPS) investigations and those who are challenging “indicated” reports before the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
Jill currently is accepting a only limited number of new cases and clients for direct representation in court. Matters that will be considered for representation are: uncontested divorces, appeals, and representation/consultation with persons navigating investigations by the Administration for Children’s Services or challenging “indicated” reports before the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
During the hiatus, Jill will continue to work collaboratively with and “of counsel” to the Law Office of Ruth Chung and the Office of Barbara J. Schaffer, PLLC, both of whom share Jill’s approach and commitment to the practice of family law.
In addition to conducting trainings and seminars throughout the country on issues of family law for attorneys, judges, advocates, policy makers and social workers, she is a co-author of the two-volume and online legal treatise New York Law of Domestic Violence (Thomson Reuters: 4th Edition, 2024).
Jill provides comprehensive and thoughtful representation to clients.
Jill has worked successfully in both public and private practice. She has represented clients on the both the highest and lowest ends of the income spectrum. When Jill established her solo practice in 2012, it was with a commitment to quality representation for a reasonable fee for all clients irrespective of income. Jill’s business model is to keep her overhead low so that she can focus on the client and the law.
Jill only takes on cases in which she believes she can make a difference for the client — either in the outcome of the case, or in the client’s experience as she or he makes the difficult journey through the family law legal system. Personal attention and dedication to the client’s cause are the hallmarks of Jill’s practice. Jill’s representation is enhanced by a background which includes litigation of issues ancillary to family law — in courts ranging from the highest state court, to federal and state appellate courts, to housing court.
